Brasov six peaks Circuit

”Brasov six peaks Circuit” is our prize for peak baggers.

It is a unique program created and promoted by us, accessible for everybody, according to their level of fitness and and means to reach the surrounding six highest and most important peaks nearby Brasov.

Each peak can be reached in one long day, starting early morning from Brasov, if you are fit enough and know the shortest/fastest route.

The collection of six peaks is:

  1. Tampa Peak (960m alt. D+ 420m), Postavaru Mts.;
  2. Magura Codlei (1.292m, D+ 665m), Persani Mts.;
  3. Postăvaru Peak (1.799m alt., D+ 780m ), Postavaru Mts.
  4. Piatra Mare Peak (1.844m alt. D+ 1.200m), Piatra Mare Mts.
  5. Piscul Baciului/La Om Peak (2.239m alt., D+ 1.039m), Piatra Craiului Mts.
  6. Omu Peak (2.505m alt., D+ 1.800m), Bucegi Mts.

All peaks can be collected in six different days, some of them easier (including cable car or two in one long day), others harder, according to the chosen route.

The last two are the hardest and exposed in alpine terrain (above 2.000m alt.) and must be reached only in good weather conditions.

Please feel free to contact us regarding this superb peaks collection.

Brasov. Trekking. Six peaks circuit

Brasov area. Family outdoor activities

Between July 05-08th, 2018 we organize a series of outdoor activities days, specially dedicated to children and parents, equally.

Location: Zarnesti, Braşov area , 3 hours by car from Bucharest.

For reasons of safety and environmental impact (ecotourism), all our activities in nature are organized in relatively small groups, focusing on the quality of experience and not quantity.

Our activities are addressed to families with one or more children in one of the age groups:

– 6 to 9 years inclusive;

– between 10 and 12 years inclusive;

For other situations, please contact us directly.

The proposed activities are addressed to active families who want to do together (parents + children!), something more than just walking around the classical objectives in the Brasov area, such as castles and churches.

In addition to various hikes in the mountains, we will do many other interesting activities in nature that involve some physical and adrenaline such as:

  • rock climbing,
  • caving (caves exploration);
  • cycling on roads without traffic (traffic free);
  • night walking;
  • orienteering in nature with map and compass;

All these activities are combined with other games in nature and practical activities such as astronomy, outdoor first aid and others, which are equally useful for children and adults.

Activities are adapted to children’s difficulty and endurance, which means that for adults should be relatively light. But parents and children should have at least an average physical condition in order to enjoy together the beauty of nature.

For the safety of participants during practical activities, all activities are organized and coordinated by Marian Anghel, mountain guide, international mountain leader and Austrian Uebungsleiter.

In addition, Marian Anghel is also the author of the only mountain walking guidebook in Braşov Mountains, especially dedicated to families with children and disabled persons.

For more information on these family activities, please contact us by email or phone.

Trekking with disabled children

trekkimg. Piatra Craiului

We spent the last few days in Piatra Craiului mountains, with a special group of French children with loco and neuromotor deficiencies.

Outdoor activities and trekking aren’t the most obviously accessible activities, but having a disability doesn’t rule you out from trying them.

Together, with a lot of patience and attention, on mountain trails where every tree root or stone represents a barrier, we managed to reach the main ridge of Piatra Craiului, in one day and a half.

We have climbed to its lowest point, in the ”Crapatura saddle”, a banality for most of those who have mountain experience, but one of the toughest “expeditions” these 9-13 year old children have had.

+ 1.000m/- 700m is not an easy walk even for adults!

Last year (2016) we published a trekking guidebook in Brasov mts. special for disabled ramblers and families with children. Everybody should enjoy the nature and Romanian Carpathians are a wonderful place!
