Via ferrata in Carpathians

Over the last few years, the number of people climbing “via ferrate” has rapidly increased in Romanian mountains and this manner of approaching mountains is becoming more and more popular among mountaineers and hikers, in particular among young people.

We organize via ferrata tours for a maximum group of 4 persons, individual safety equipment included.

The terms “via ferrata” (or equipped path) indicate that a set of fixed equipment (metallic ropes, ladders, chains, bridges, …) is installed along an itinerary in order to facilitate its ascension, guaranteeing at the same time a good margin of security.

Via ferrata offers an exciting mix of alpine hiking and rock climbing, allowing lesser or even inexperienced trekkers to face otherwise dangerous—but incredibly scenic—routes.

Like rock climbing, via ferrata routes have a rating system accordingly to the difficulty of ascent.

Ranging in length from a few hundred to several thousand feet, via ferratas can take anywhere from one to eight hours to traverse, but all of these adrenaline-inducing routes feature magnificent vistas.

Our offer includes ascents in different mountain regions from Romania, with some of the finest via ferratas in Eastern Carpathians (Bicaz Gorges – Cheile Bicazului).
